Nell's role as an educator is deeply entwined with her artistic practice.  She is currently an Senior Lecturer at the University of the Arts teaching Advanced Directing and Script Analysis. Nell has also taught, directed and mentored students at various universities including Carleton College, NYU, Swarthmore College, and Temple University.  

In addition to teaching at the college-level, Nell has worked as a teaching artist for the past 13 years. She's designed curriculum and taught in Philadelphia high schools (through the Wilma Theater and Philadelphia Young Playwrights) and for elementary school-aged children through professional theaters like Hedgerow Theatre and FlynnArts. From 2012-2014 Nell was one of three national curriculum designers for Microsoft's Bing in the Classroom Initiative.
